Went metal detecting with matt this evening after work. We hit a spot that had produced some keepers on previous hunts. Even though the targets were few and far between, we were hopeful. First find of the evening was a surprise. I believe its my first musket ball .
it's approximately 15mm in diameter and the white lead-oxide patina leads me to think it's got some age to it.
As expected , finds were few but I finished off the night finding a large old copper coin.
unfortunately this copper coin was too corroded to identify.
I Sure hope that's a musket Ball!! I must say that this summer has been an amazing year of detecting, I cant believe some of the things that we pulled from the ground!
