Hi Everyone!
Hope you all had a great weekend, I know I surely did! Sunday I met Up With Nick (Samios) For some downtown Montreal hunting, Quite the culture shock for me coming from my small city of 50000 people, all was good though as I quickly forgot about how many people were around when I started detecting and started finding the good stuff, :tu:
Our Adventure Started on the mountain park, what a beautiful spot!!! Nice big green space in the middle of a metropolitan area, the finds started out slow on the manicured lawns, bottle cap, pull-tab, penny and repeat, after a few hours of detecting and helping someone looking for his lost keys we heading into the bush on the mountain, again things started slowly but we were finding bullet casings and the odd old pop can top, fast-forward a few minutes and I had a nice largie in the hole, 1876 Large Cent in absolutely amazing condition :hd3: , as me and Nick celebrated my find I jokingly told him it that he was going to find a Vicky Quarter Next, Well not 5 mins later he starts cheering and says he is holding a silver quarter in his hand lol It was not a Vicky but the next best thing an Eddie!
after this we were quite excited we proceed to hunt the are a little longer nick found a few more goodies and we then left to go try another area of Montreal.
After about a 20 min drive though downtown Montreal we arrived to this gorgeous park with huge trees lining the pathways, we proceed to park and start hunting, there was people everywhere yet no one seemed interested in what we were doing something I am not used to, in Cornwall everyone comes up to you to ask you what your doing. :duh:
The finds started popping out first things was a 47 ML Quarter followed closely by a 1920 LC, the place is littered with signals there are pennies everywhere!!!
all in all I dug 76 Coins along with a few knick knacks, I believe I did find a very tiny poured musket ball and part of an old broach or hair tie.
hope you all enjoyed the weekend as much as I did
Thanks again Nick for your Hospitality I am looking forward to hunting again with you soon :ty:
Happy Hunting
