Hello Everyone!!
Hope everyone had a great weekend and that the finds were plentiful, I myself had a pretty good detecting weekend, found a really neat button and a local token along with other odds and ends.
my weekend started Saturday afternoon after my wife left with our son to go the campsite to visit her parents, once they left I promptly left and headed for my new permission, once I arrived I quickly said my hellos to the superintendent and started detecting, about 30 min in I heard my name being said and low and behold it was the owner of the property, I have only talked to him by phone as he lives in another city, we shook hands and had a chat about detecting and on his way he went.
This site is littered with pennies,,, actually littered might be an understatement,,, Polluted with pennies might be more accurate, in a section 30x40 I have dug over 100, every few feet there is a penny, most time they mask another signal underneath it, I will clean it out, one at a time!!
This Hunt Produced Something quite Spectacular  , a local Token made of aluminium commemorating the opening of the St-Lawrence Seaway in 1959, I don't imagine there are too many of these that ended up buried so I was extremely excited to see it in the hole, (I must admit I though I had a half or dollar at first)
Next I Found this very interesting 2pc button, I am hoping our forum experts can shed a little light as to what type of uniform it belonged to. :?:
I will be returning to this site this week sometime and will scan the yard going the other direction and see what else will turn up, hopefully I can get the deeper older targets. I did manage to find a 1950 dime this time around :hd3:
Happy Hunting
